Good thing there are a lot of federal laws and regulations that deal with labor and employment, In this way, life’s major concern is turns out to be not that hard, after all. Employment law is very broad. And you need to know just the most important aspects and areas.

Employment Discrimination – the law prohibits discrimination based on race, gender, religion, ethnic origin, physical disability, age, sexual preference by the employers. Bias in hiring, promotion, job assignment, termination, compensation are discriminatory practices.

Unemployment Compensation – this is an insurance for the unemployed because of reasons of wrongful termination. The law require the employer to settle monetary payments to the unemployed until such time they find a new job.

Pension – this is a monetary compensation coming from the employer after retirement. The two types of pension are defined benefit plan and defined contribution plan.

Workplace safety – it is designed to avoid personal injuries and sickness from occuring in the work place.
